BOTOX
What Can BOTOX Treat?
BOTOX Cosmetic is an injectable treatment that relaxes muscles to smooth wrinkles. It is FDA-approved to treat moderate to severe crow's feet, forehead lines, and frown lines.
BOTOX can help you achieve smooth skin and results that look natural. After treatment, patients often report looking like themselves, but younger. Our board-certified plastic surgeon, Azita Madjidi, can help you smooth wrinkles, create a softer chin, lift drooping eyebrows, and more with BOTOX.
BOTOX, XEOMIN, and Dysport Knowing the Difference
You may have heard of other botulinum toxin products like XEOMIN® and Dysport®. While these injectables and BOTOX Cosmetic are all botulinum toxin type A products that work to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, they are used differently. BOTOX is often used to treat smaller problem areas, and Dysport is used to treat larger areas. XEOMIN may be better for people with skin sensitivities.
We offer both BOTOX Cosmetic and Dysport at our office in Houston. Dr. Madjidi can determine which botulinum toxin injectable will best help you achieve your goals during your consultation.

Maintaining the Results of Your Treatment
Follow a Skincare Regimen
Using a moisturizer every day can encourage plump, youthful-looking skin. Applying retinol a few times a week can increase collagen production, smooth wrinkles, and fade hyperpigmentation and scarring.
Use Sun Protection
The sun ages your skin quickly, so we recommend staying out of the sun as much as possible, wearing protective clothing like hats and sunglasses when going outside, and using sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
Receive Touch-Up Treatments
The effects of BOTOX only last about four months, so we recommend scheduling follow-up appointments at our office in Houston a few times a year. This can contribute to a long-term plan to relax your muscles and keep your wrinkles from getting deeper and more noticeable.
Consider Dermal Fillers
Though BOTOX can work to smooth wrinkles, you may have other areas of concern you wish to address. Our Houston, TX, practice offers dermal fillers to add youthful volume to areas of the face. You can plump your lips, fill out hollowed cheeks, and smooth creases with choices like JUVÉDERM®, Restylane®, and Prevelle.
Medical Uses for BOTOX
While BOTOX Cosmetic is used to smooth facial wrinkles, BOTOX can be used for medical purposes like alleviating chronic migraines, reducing tension in the jaw, calming eyelid spasms, and treating hyperhidrosis. Our Houston practice can help you explore the medical uses for BOTOX and develop a treatment plan if you are struggling with one of these medical conditions.
