The Initial Consultation
During consultation, Dr. Madjidi will thoroughly evaluate you or your child's type of cleft and go over the many aspects of the treatment. Many factors come into account for the treatment of cleft lip and palate. The extent of the cleft itself, age, prior surgeries, impact on hearing and speech, dentition, and other health issues are amongst the most important factors and will determine the best treatment option.
The global treatment of a patient with cleft lip and palate deformity requires the involvement of other specialists, depending on the age of the patient and the ultimate goal. Dr. Madjidi will work with your child's pediatrician or primary care physician to coordinate his or her optimum care. Dr. Madjidi will perform surgeries on children less than 15 years of age at Texas Children's Hospital, one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the world.
