Preparing for Breast Reduction Surgery
Recovering from Breast Reduction
After your breast reduction surgery, Dr. Madjidi will follow up with you during your healing process and see how your scars evolve. The incision scars will initially be firm and pink, but they normally flatten and fade over the course of the next year.
You will wear a surgical bra for a few weeks. The swelling should be gone in two to four weeks, and the final shape will be obtained at about three months post-surgery. Finally, you should be able to go back to work in a week or two.
Additional Breast Procedures For Tailored Results
When the breasts are very large or very long, it is sometimes necessary to reposition the nipples as a graft. In that case, breastfeeding will no longer be a possibility. Nipple sensation may be greatly reduced, and very dark-colored areolas may partially lose their pigment.
